Rotokare Scenic Reserve Trust was formed in 2004 by a group of locals concerned about the decline of the habitat at Rotokare Reserve. A specially designed predator-proof fence now circles the 8.2km reserve perimeter. This fence keeps out all pest species, allowing vegetation to recover and fauna to breed successfully.
